Hi Prayer partners,
It's already June! The months are "sailing" past! Our time on this earth is so precious. I know your time is precious too, so I will try to be brief. Now that the weather is getting warmer for most of you, you will also be spending less time in front of the computer screen and more time behind insect screens and sun screen.
Anyhow! Thanks for praying for us. How can we thank you enough? TY, TY, TY... I know some are looking for new ways to pray so here are our lists of Praises and Prayer Requests:
Would you PRAISE the Lord with us about...1. the open doors through the ministry of the Bob Jones University soccer team? Three people raised their hand indicating a desire to get saved. One lady had visited our church on two prior occasions. She was visited by each of the team members at different occasions. Our coworker's wife was able to lead her to the Lord for salvation during her follow-up visit. Amen! One more for GLORY!
2. God's continued provision for the construction needs of the auditorium? Progress is slow, but steady.
3. God's hand of protection during the construction as the construction crew is now working over 36 feet up in the air?
4. a new family of missionaries, Brendan and Melissa Holmquist, has arrived in São Paulo to begin language study? They will go to Rio to begin ministry after a year of studying.
5. for the three mission teams that will be with us in the next three months? It is always exciting to have other believers present to share their faith with the folks here.
6. that Judy's mom, aunt and cousin will be coming as part of the mission team in July.
Please pray for...1. safety for the BJU soccer team as they return to their homes this weekend after three weeks of ministry in Brazil.
2. for continued safety & finances for the construction of the auditorium.
3. the orientation and adjustment of the Holmquists to life in Brazil. Wisdom for us as we try to help them adapt and get established.
4. our coworkers who had to go home for a family emergency.
5. our increased responsibilities until the return of the Forans from furlough in August.
6. our continuing financial deficit of $900/ month. The dollar continues to weaken even more making us have to tighten our belts even more.
7. spiritual growth of our church members. Pray that the Word of God would abound in their hearts and lives.
8. our family's increasing challenges with the newly acquired responsibilities we have in the church.
9. the three mission teams that will be with us - one in June, one in July and one in August. There are lots of logistical challenges, but tremendously rewarding when friendships are made, souls saved and young people catch the vision and call for missions as a result of having given a couple of their weeks to the cause of Christ in a foreign country - although Brazil is becoming "less foreign" to our family.
10. our daughters: Anna, Alicia and Emily - for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
We appreciate your taking the time to read our letters and lift us up before our marvelous Redeemer!
