Dear Friends,

Thank you for you constant prayers and faithful support in the ministry.

In July I went on a missions trip to Liberia to visit two missionaries supported by our church here in Techiman. The trip was filled with fear and concern because of the instability of Liberia at this time, but God kept us safe. We stayed in the home of Pastor Joe Gueh, and hired four guards to watch the house during the night. Many nights we would hear terrible noises in the night as the watchmen tried to scare off thieves attempting to rob the house. While we were their thieves came in the night and robbed the roofing materials off the temporary structure the church had built. We were there during the rainy season, and it poured all day on Sunday, so with no roof we were not able to worship that Sunday morning. Please pray for our missionaries in Liberia, life is not easy for them. Every day is filled with fear, even the Police are involved in armed robberies in the night. Both of these faithful missionaries are under supported financially and have great needs. Please pray for God's blessing and provision.

In the later part of July we had a wonderful visit from the Smith family, from Kansas. What a blessing it was to have friends in our home who also shared in the gospel ministry while they were here with us.

In the first part of August I was very busy teaching in the Bible School and with the funeral of one of our own church members named, Mohamma. He was from a very large Moslem family, so Pastor Samuel had the privilege of preaching the gospel to over 80 Muslims (in our church) during the funeral service. Last Sunday I had the joy of preaching in the first Sunday morning service in one of our daughter churches' outreach ministries in a village called Akisismasu (we had 46 people). This Sunday we had the joy of witnessing 6 people in our daughter church in Oforikrom go down into the waters of Baptism.

This Saturday I will take Michelle (and the 3 little ones) to the airport to fly home to the US for the delivery of our seventh child. She is due in mid-October. Due to some complication with her last delivery with Angel, we have felt it wise to send Michelle home. I have some meetings in Burkina Faso and Niger in September then I will fly home with Samantha on September 18th.

This month our eldest son Jon has asked a wonderful Christian young lady to be his wife, so while we are home for the birth of our new baby, we will help Jon celebrate his upcoming wedding to; Melissa Garrett, a member of the Pinecrest Baptist Church In Atlanta, GA. Becoming a new father, and a new father-in-law, all in one year makes me very blessed. (The wedding is being planned for December 6, 2008.)

Again thank you for counting us worthy to represent you in Africa!

Your Missionaries in West Africa,
Steve & Michelle Volante (and tribe)
