Romans 8:28-30 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

This passage teaches us that God's redemptive work is based upon His "foreknowledge'. I would like to hear your opinion as to what you believe that word "Foreknowledge" means.... PC. Cool

From the passage, it implies that it was foreknowledge leading on to pre-destination / calling / justification / glorification.
It's difficult to conclude the exact meaning of 'whom He foreknew', but the end result was salvation of the target population. God's omnisicience might have something to do with it, without implying that His foreknowledge of future good works resulted in salvation. The riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering Paul talks about in Romans 2:4 - goodness which leads to repentance seems to play a part. In romans 8:16 &17, Paul brings the concept of the gift by grace and the gift of righteousness. In Romans 11:22 he talks about God's goodness is something one has to continue in, if not face the risk of being cut off. In Romans 10:12 &13, the Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him, For whosoever shall call unpon the name of the Lord shall be saved. The last two passages speak of man's responsibility in the whole transaction - while works cannot earn salvation, turning away will have serious consequences.
